Dear Cinnamon Leaf Crew,

let me introduce myself.

For those I haven’t met one-on-one, I’m Jeanette Lundell. I’ve been a licensed massage therapist for 10 years and have owned my own business since graduation. My style is primarily deep tissue work, incorporating NMT, cupping, graston/gua sha, Ashiatsu, Swedish, hydrotherapy, and aromatherapy. I’m also an NCBTMB certified continuing education provider, currently working hard to develop new courses beyond my existing cupping course. Your group sealed the deal on my CE focus: gearing courses towards beginning therapists.

During 2020-2024, my website designer and I launched and ran a program aimed at helping newly graduated therapists navigate business ownership. While it provided valuable education and support, running a program like that isn’t cheap. Unfortunately, the price point was too high to sustain long-term, and thus beyond the affordability for new therapists.  Though we had to call it quits, the experience fueled my passion for education and mentorship. My passion really is for you guys, and other therapists like you.

I also spent 2020-2022 at PSMT, teaching Neuromuscular Therapy and Hydrotherapy, while serving as Clinic Director. Passing that torch to Eli was one of my best decisions! I’ve visited several times since, and WOW—it’s amazing to see how things have evolved.

That's just a teeny snapshot of my bio. My experience in owning my own business is its own college course. If you hang around at one of these yet-to-be-named events, and after graduation, you will get the un-inflated reality of massage therapy life, the ins-and-outs and all the tips and tricks I know. It's a good life, but as with anything, you need to be prepared.

If your massage game at graduation feels like muscle memory, it makes handling the rest of it, much easier. That's my wink-wink, nudge nudge for you.

Don't make me put my mom face on.

How Can I Help?

When it comes to Guest Day, I’m a seasoned pro. I’ve been attending Swedish and NMT guest days for the past ten years, and they’re always one of my favorite experiences. I get to reconnect with students and instructors, over the years and witness the incredible talent emerging after just 22 weeks. You may not think you’re great yet—but from what I heard during our round robin, every single one of you is eager to keep learning. There's  A LOT of energy in your group, as was in ours, but like most of you, we worked full time while in school. Finding CE's, or even the time to match schedules with another professional (who won't charge you by the way) is not easy. Finding the room in your schedule might be hard- or maybe you'd rather not go to peoples houses.

That got me thinking: How can I help those who want to stay on top of their skills?

Now that Swedish is over, you’re entering a phase where full-body sessions aren’t as frequent in your coursework (at least, to my recollection). You have two options: keep practicing or take a break. I do understand that the majority of what you're learning may be brand new, and at times overwhleming. However, my suggestion—and I’m sure any of your instructors would back me up—is to keep practicing full-body sessions at least twice a week. If you do, blending Swedish with the next modalities will be easier to piece together in your sessions and in your clinics. No matter where you plan to work or who you work for, the skills you have now are your foundation. Even if you don’t love it, you’ll need it.

Your Opportunity: Hands-On Workshop Sessions

I’m offering workshop sessions over the next few months leading up to graduation. The goal is simple—give you a space to refine your skills with an LMT there to guide and support you.

Maybe you think you struggle with leg work, can’t quite get draping right, or have been told your pressure isn’t consistent. Or maybe you’re already confident and just want a practice body to keep your toolbox sharp. Whatever it is, these workshops are for YOU.

Workshop Details

📍 Where:
My Office – 135 Cumberland Road, Suite 204, Pittsburgh, PA 15237

📅 Upcoming Dates:

  • 4/5 | 5:30 – 7:30 PM (Option C)
  • 4/13 | 6:00 – 8:00 PM (Option B)
  • 4/26 | 1:30 – 3:30 PM TBD
  • (More dates to be announced!)

👥 Capacity:

  • 4-6 therapists per workshop
  • First come, first served registration

🔧 How It Works:

  • Option A: Two hours to divide up between a 60-minute session (relatively uninterrupted), and workshop time with us. The order in which that happens is up to the group, by unanimous vote.  This is like a very loose version of clinic, with troubleshooting.
  • Option B: You massage only LMT's, while I pop in and out to help. If you are struggling with the intake process, even if it's just nerves, this will help with transitioning to real clients. It'll be like guest day! Maybe with snacks!
  • Option C: 2 hour workshop. Either individual needs or a group need such as draping, or flow. I can bring a body, demo and then you try it.

🛠 What to Bring:

  • Sheets & lubrication
  • Any modalities you learn along the way while in school.
  • I will provide all bodies.

📌 Reminder: These sessions aren’t about learning new modalities but improving upon what you already know. You’ll refine your Swedish techniques, flow, draping, stretching, and overall confidence.

How Much? Free.

I really hope you didn't think I was going to charge you.
